On Saturday, Fulton County officials discovered that the number of scanned ballots didn’t reflect the totals received. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced the news of a re-scan that afternoon.
Raffensperger dispatched a monitor, investigators, and Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs to moderate the process at State Farm Arena.
Election official Richard Barron reported that just under 350 ballots ended up altering the voting tally in the heavily-Democratic county. He stated that 17 of those missing ballots were discovered and delivered by a provisional ballots official.
When reporters asked if the error was due to a server issue, Barron expressed uncertainty about how the issue occurred and where it originated.
“I don’t know. I know the thumb drive did have the files on it – for some reason it didn’t transfer over.”
There have been issues with glitches in surrounding counties and other states as well. Concern increased greatly after an election processing software, Dominion Voting Systems, awarded Joe Biden 5,000 votes that belonged to President Donald Trump. Multiple data communications experts have rejected the software for poor security.
Barron shared that the numbers were “balanced” after the rescanning.
Although Raffensperger released the news on the recount, he has yet to issue an updated statement.
National attention first turned to the county after they ceased counting absentee ballots for several hours due to a burst water pipe.
The next day, there were allegations that the county continued counting ballots after they told poll watchers that they were done counting and could go home for the day.
Biden would be the first Democratic presidential candidate to win over Georgia since Bill Clinton in 1992.
According to Raffensperger, Georgia will likely undergo a recount.

Imagine that. There were “glitches” in vote counting. Is anyone really surprised? I am of the opinion that many of these “glitches” could be traced back to illegal actions. The question really is what is going to be done about it.
